Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Lead Ads

Edited

Meta's native lead ad forms let prospects submit their details without leaving Facebook or Instagram, which typically results in a 50% lower cost per lead compared to sending traffic to a website form. The challenge is getting those leads into your CRM fast enough to matter. Driftrock's Meta Lead Ads Capture connects directly to Meta's API to sync leads in real time, the moment a form is submitted.

What is the Meta Lead Ads Capture?

The Meta Lead Ads Capture is a pre-built integration in Driftrock's Capture Library that creates a server-to-server connection between your Meta ad account and Driftrock. When a prospect submits a lead ad form on Facebook or Instagram, Driftrock receives the lead instantly via Meta's API, applies any validation, deduplication, or routing rules you have configured, and forwards it to your CRM.

This replaces manual CSV downloads from Ads Manager, polling integrations that check for new leads on a delay, and bespoke middleware built per platform.

Why use the Meta Lead Ads Capture?

Meta lead ads are one of the highest-volume, lowest-CPL channels available to automotive marketers. But speed to contact is critical: conversion rates can be up to 9x higher when a prospect is contacted within 5 minutes of submitting a form. Manual or delayed lead retrieval makes that window almost impossible to hit consistently.

With Driftrock:

  • Leads arrive instantly. No polling delays, no manual downloads. Every form submission is received and processed in real time.

  • Data arrives clean. Lead Validation and Deduplication run automatically before the lead reaches your CRM, so your sales team only works on contactable, unique prospects.

  • Campaign optimisation closes the loop. Once leads are in Driftrock, you can send qualified lead and sale signals back to Meta's Conversions API so Meta's algorithm optimises for the outcomes that actually matter to your business, not just form fills.

  • Tracking is preserved. Ad name, campaign ID, and Meta click IDs are captured alongside every lead, giving you granular attribution in Driftrock reporting.

How it works

When you set up a Meta Lead Ads Capture in Driftrock, you authenticate your Meta account, select the Facebook Page and the specific lead form you want to connect, and map the form fields to Driftrock's standard data model. From that point, every submission on that form triggers an instant server-to-server push from Meta to Driftrock.

Driftrock processes the lead through your configured rules (validation, deduplication, routing), then forwards it to your CRM or other connected destinations. The entire process takes seconds from form submission to CRM delivery.

Getting started

Before you begin, make sure the user connecting the account has Admin access to the Facebook Page, Admin access to the Ad Account, and Lead Access Manager permissions for the specific lead form.

  1. Go to the Capture Library in Driftrock and select Facebook Lead Ads.

  2. Authenticate your Meta account and grant all requested permissions when prompted.

  3. Select your Facebook Page and Ad Account, then choose the specific lead form you want to connect.

  4. Map the form fields to Driftrock's standard fields in the Mapping step.

  5. Set up your destination in the Destinations step, mapping Driftrock fields to your CRM's required fields.

  6. Save and activate the Capture.

Tips for getting the most out of Meta Lead Ads

If leads stop syncing, the most common cause is that the user who authenticated the connection has lost Admin permissions on the Page or Ad Account. Go to Settings and Connections in Driftrock to re-authenticate.

If a lead form you have created is not appearing in the Driftrock setup list, check that the connecting user has Lead Access Manager permissions for that form and Page in Meta Business Manager.

To improve lead quality without significantly increasing CPL, add qualification questions to your Meta form (such as purchase timeline or vehicle of interest). You can then use Driftrock routing rules to only forward high-intent responses to your main CRM, while routing lower-intent leads to a nurture flow.

Campaign attribution missing from Meta leads

If Meta leads arrive in Driftrock without any campaign attribution data (campaign name, ad name, etc.), it's likely because the user who authenticated the connection only has access to the Facebook Page and not the Ad Account.

Campaign attribution is only passed through when the connecting user has access to both the Facebook Page and the Ad Account. To fix this, ask the appropriate user (e.g. someone at the agency managing the ad account) to re-authenticate the connection in Driftrock Settings > Connections.
