Vehicle Database
Driftrock's Vehicle Database lets you store and manage a master list of your vehicle models, so that every lead captured automatically includes the correct vehicle information. Whether a lead comes from a Facebook ad, a Google form, or your website, Driftrock maps the lead to the right model in your database, giving you cleaner data and more meaningful reporting.
What is the Vehicle Database?
The Vehicle Database is a central repository of your vehicle models, held within Driftrock under Settings > Vehicles. Each record contains the model's name, ID, and attributes such as powertrain, body type, and segment.
When a lead arrives, Driftrock looks up the vehicle preference captured in the form and matches it to the closest entry in your database using a system of aliases. This means that even if a source platform sends "Golf R" when your database contains "Golf," the lead is still correctly tagged with the right model data.
If no match is found, the original value is preserved so the lead still flows through to your CRM without being lost.
Why use the Vehicle Database?
Marketing campaigns are built around specific vehicles, and accurate vehicle data is essential for answering the questions that matter most: which models are generating the most qualified leads, which channels perform best for electric vehicles, and where to focus budget.
Without a central vehicle database, incoming model names are inconsistent across sources, which forces manual cleanup in spreadsheets or the CRM after leads arrive. The Vehicle Database moves standardisation to the point of capture, so reporting works automatically, with no extra work downstream.
Because the database includes structured attributes like powertrain and segment, Driftrock can report on these dimensions across all your campaigns without any additional field mapping.
How it works
You upload your vehicle list to Driftrock under Settings > Vehicles, including each model's name, ID, and any alternative names (aliases) that different sources might send.
When building a capture, you map the form field containing the customer's model preference to the Driftrock Vehicle ID field.
As each lead arrives, Driftrock looks up the incoming value against your vehicle list and its aliases, then enriches the lead with the matched model's full attributes.
If no match is found, the original value is preserved and the lead continues through to your CRM.
This enrichment happens automatically on every lead, so your Driftrock dashboards can break down performance by model, powertrain, or segment without any further configuration.
Getting started
Prerequisites:
A list of your vehicles including Model Name and Vehicle ID (your internal model code). Optionally include additional attributes such as Powertrain, Body Type, and Segment.
Navigate to Settings > Vehicles in your Driftrock account.
Upload a CSV file containing your vehicle data, or add vehicles manually.
For each vehicle, add aliases covering any alternative names or spellings that your lead sources might send (for example, "VW Golf GTI" as an alias for "Golf").
Open the capture you want to enrich and proceed to the Mapping step.
Map the incoming field containing the customer's vehicle preference to the Vehicle ID field in Driftrock.
In the Destinations step, map the enriched vehicle fields (such as Vehicle ID and Powertrain) to the corresponding fields in your CRM.
Submit a test lead with a known vehicle preference and confirm that the correct model data appears in the captured event.
Tips for getting the most out of the Vehicle Database
Keep your alias list comprehensive. The most common reason for unmatched values is a model name arriving in a format not covered by your aliases. Review incoming lead payloads periodically and add new aliases as needed.
If your model line-up changes, re-upload your vehicle list to keep the database current. Updating a model's attributes in the database will apply to all future leads matched to that Vehicle ID.
Use the structured attributes in your vehicle records (such as Powertrain) to unlock richer reporting. Once these are in your database, Driftrock surfaces them automatically across your dashboards, so you can compare performance by vehicle segment without any additional setup.
