Retrying Leads
When a lead fails to reach your CRM, it should not mean that lead is gone forever. Retrying Leads gives you the tools to resend failed events directly from Driftrock, so no sales opportunity is lost because of a temporary system issue.
What is Retrying Leads?
Driftrock captures and stores every lead that enters the platform. If a lead cannot be delivered to your CRM (for example, because of a brief outage, an expired API key, or a misconfigured field mapping), it is marked as "Failed" rather than discarded.
Retrying Leads lets you fix the underlying issue and then resend those failed leads in one step. You can retry a single lead to check your fix, or retry all failed leads in bulk once the problem is resolved.
Why use Retrying Leads?
Every lead that fails to reach your CRM is a missed sales opportunity. Without a retry mechanism, a failed lead is a lost lead. Driftrock stores the original lead data so it remains available for delivery once you are ready.
This means your sales team receives every lead you paid to generate, even when downstream systems have problems outside your control.
How it works
When a lead arrives in Driftrock and delivery to a destination fails, Driftrock marks the lead as "Failed" and records the reason. The lead data is held securely within the platform.
Once you have identified and fixed the cause (for example, reconnecting an expired CRM integration or correcting a field mapping), you can trigger a retry. Driftrock resends the lead through the same validation and routing logic, ensuring it follows the correct rules before it reaches your CRM.
Getting started
Retrying leads does not require any special setup. The feature is available on any Capture in your Driftrock account.
Go to Your Captures and open the Capture containing the failed leads.
Click the Failed tab to view events that need attention.
To retry a single lead, click the circular arrow icon next to the lead.
To retry all failed leads at once, open the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the table and select Retry all failed events.
Tips for getting the most out of Retrying Leads
Fix the root cause before retrying. If a lead fails again after a retry, the underlying issue (such as an invalid API key or a missing required CRM field) has not been resolved. Check the failure log on the lead event for the specific error message returned by your CRM, then address it before retrying.
Note that leads older than 30 days cannot be retried. This is in line with Driftrock's data retention policy, which removes lead PII after 30 days.
